Smoking pot makes you crazy
The BBC has reported a drug disorder schizophrenia link.
Here are a couple quotes: “44.5% of those with cannabis-induced psychotic symptoms went on to be diagnosed with schizophrenia-spectrum disorders”, and “[t]hey found similar abnormalities in an area of the brain linked to high level linguistic and auditory skill in cannabis users and those with schizophrenia”.
In a nutshell, smoking pot will make your brain chemistry remarkably similar to that of a crazy person, and if you’re already genetically susceptible to going crazy it will happen several years sooner on the average.
If you are surprised by this, you probably smoke pot. Those of us who do not smoke pot are pretty much the opposite of surprised by this discovery. Our reaction is more like “well, no shit, Sherlock; and in other news, scientists have preliminary results to indicate that most water is likely to be wet”.
