One of the key elements of that trust is agreement on what is considered sensible behavior. These are the guidelines we prefer all users to follow. It should be reasonably obvious that "Alatar" is a trademark of Darklock Communications for its CMS software. If you make significant modifications to the Alatar CMS, and you package it up and put it on your web site, you should not call it "Alatar" or anything containing "Alatar". Nobody except Darklock Communications has any right to put the "Alatar" name on any CMS software. The BSD license does not and cannot give you that right. The official Alatar web site is the preferred location for download of the Alatar CMS software. While we do not forbid you to provide alternate locations for download, we prefer that you send people who want the latest version of the software to the official site. If you are running the Alatar CMS, we would like to know about it. We would especially like you to participate in the official support forum, where you can help other people get the most out of Alatar CMS. And even if you've already solved your own problem, we would like to know that you had the problem and what you did to solve it. This again helps us make the Alatar CMS better for everyone. If you make significant changes to the Alatar CMS for any reason, we would like you to send your changes to us for inclusion in the official Alatar CMS distribution. This also helps us make the Alatar CMS better for everyone. By sending your proposed changes to us, you grant Darklock Communications a perpetual nonexclusive license to incorporate any and all of your modifications into our code, at our discretion, under our copyright, without fees, royalties, or obligations. You do not give up any of your existing rights in the code as you provide it.
